Depart from Mermaid Quay and sail across to Cardiff Bay Barrage to see the locks and bridges, sluice gates, and fish pass. Return to Mermaid Quay.

Depart from Mermaid Quay and sail across to Cardiff Bay Barrage. The barrage includes locks and bridges, sluice gates, and a fish pass. Motor gently along the Ely River, taking in Cardiff Marina, and Cardiff International White Water Centre. Return to Mermaid Quay via the Cardiff Bay Wetlands Reserve.

Depart from Mermaid Quay and sail out through one of the three barrage locks to the open sea. Motor to Penarth Pier returning again via Cardiff Bay Barrage sailing back to Mermaid Quay.

2 Hour Introduction To Sailing

This is very much hands-on. First task will be to hoist the sails to start your learning experience. The Skipper will then introduce participants to lots of sailing manoeuvres and give them the opportunity to learn some basic sailing skills.

Leaving Mermaid Quay at 10:00 and returning at 16:00. You could set sail for Flatholm and Steepholm, Barry or Weston Super Mare. Bring a picnic and anchor for lunch. Dependant on wind and tides, this trip can be tailored to your requirements.

Takamaka is an MCA coded vessel and all safety equipment is provided along with a safety briefing prior to each sailing. All sailings are weather and tide permitting.
